Kilvert Country, Wye Valley Walk, The Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, Offa's Dyke, The Malvern Hills and Welsh Borders.
The Red Lion Hotel, renowned as one of the leading hotels in the Heart of England catering for people who enjoy the outdoor type of holiday.
The hamlet of Bredwardine lies roughly halfway along the river Wye as it winds its way through some of the most beautiful and as yet unspoilt countryside in the whole of England. Whilst being surrounded by some of the busiest population centres of the Midlands and South Wales and with easy access via both road and rail it remains a relatively forgotten and tranquil oasis in a busy world.
Here at the Red Lion we are ideally located to offer you the opportunity to discover some of the finest, and most varied walking country, from the gentle rolling hills of the Welsh borders, the heather covered moorlands of the Black Mountains and Malvern Hills to the more strenuous high tops of the Brecon Beacons. Plus a land steeped in history and local folklore. Enjoy some of the more local walks onto the surrounding hills from where you can look down on the meandering river in the valley below or look out over the spectacular views taking in some five counties.
The hotel offers the atmosphere of a 17th century Inn but with all the facilities expected of a modern day hotel and as well as warm comfortable en-suite accommodation and good quality food after a day's walking we can also provide storage, and drying facilities for your equipment. Information, maps and literature are available locally and if you're stopping over with us as part of a longer walk we can arrange for the transportation of some of your heavier packs on to your next destination.
We hope you find the enlcosed information useful and look forward to having the opportunity of being able to share our countryside with you. We are able to cater for the individual, small group of friends or for larger parties so if there are any further points you would like to discuss please do not hesitate to contact us.
